My name is Steph Dix, and I am a professional artist living in Derbyshire, England. I have a 1st class honours degree in Illustration, and a great deal of experience in drawing, painting and portraiture. Previous high-profile clients have included Oxford University Press and Folens, and my work has appeared in the Independent newspaper. I have also been a finalist in the national Macmillan Children's Book competition.
I produce pet portraits and people portraits, and also work as a children's book and editorial illustrator. The portrait business is run through this website, and my agents for children's books and editorial work are Graham-Cameron Illustration and Picture Provider respectively.
Portraits.
My portraits are produced in pencil or watercolour, using Daler-Rowney Heavyweight Cartridge Paper for pencils, and Windsor & Newton Cold Press Watercolour Paper (100% cotton rag) for watercolour work. Both papers are acid free to prevent ageing.
Many people might be anxious about commissioning a portrait, knowing that they will have to commit to pay prior to seeing the finished piece. For this reason, I offer a free previewing service, and the promise that if you are in any way dissatisfied with the final portrait, you are under no obligation to complete the purchase, or pay anything at all.
