Hi. My name is Steph Dix, and I am a professional illustrator and artist. I'm based in Derbyshire, in the UK, although I receive commissions from all over the world. I run my pet portraits business from this website, producing colour and black and white dog, cat and horse portraits (and other animals and people too). I also work as a children's book illustrator, via my agent Graham-Cameron Illustration. I hope you enjoy the site

Please see below for sample prices for graphite (black and white) and colour portraits, and for limited edition prints. Colour is applied in a painstaking digital process which combines progressive layers of shading (similar to watercolour) with additional texturing, which gives the vibrancy of oils whilst retaining the fine detail of the graphite. There is a video on my Facebook page demonstrating the process. If you order a colour portrait, you'll receive the graphite original plus a specialist fine art colour print.

Postage/shipping is FREE worldwide for pet portraits, and FREE in the UK for limited edition prints. For international customers ordering a limited edition print, there will be a small surcharge to cover shipping.

Gift vouchers are ideal if you've left it late for Christmas or a birthday, and they also mean that the recipient can choose his or her own favourite photo for the portrait. Each voucher comes with one of four choices of limited edition greetings card, and is valid for one year from date of purchase. You can choose how much you want to pay, either a contribution towards a portrait or the full value. Postage is free for both the card and voucher and for the final portrait.
